History of Limerick Avenue Elementary

Limerick Avenue Elementary School first opened it's doors on July 1, 1957.  It has since grown to a school community with over 850 students and 30 teachers.  Limerick is proud to offer numerous programs to serve the community including a Spanish Dual Language Program and a California State Pre-School Program.  Additionally, Limerick is a full inclusion school where all students with special needs are fully included in our general education classrooms.

In addition to academic programs, Limerick Elementary is a kindness certified school which values students social-emotional learning.  Student Kindness Ambassadors and positive behavior support plans set the tone for student engagement.  Our student gym provides a space for our students to be physically active while the newly built free-standing library is home to thousands of books for students to read.

One thing has remained a constant since 1957....  At Limerick Elementary School we believe in creating a culturally responsive, equitable, and safe learning environment where students are engaged in challenging, meaningful, and motivating explorations based on core standards. We continue to have a shared belief that all students can become college and career ready. Our goal is to build a community of positive learners with social and emotional support and we work hard to create strong parent and community relationships.
